Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad has sparked controversy by not making a public appearance since he was hospitalized nearly two weeks ago.Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, who was hospitalized on January 20, has returned home, the National Heart Centre Hospital of Malaysia announced on Monday morning.Former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad posted a video in Malay on His social media account on February 4, which lasted about 1 minute and 15 seconds, to reassure the public of his safety.According to the video, Mahathir appears tired and less energetic in front of the camera, but is still able to walk slowly without help and turn the pages of a newspaper.Mahathir said he returned home from the hospital every morning and stayed there until the evening before returning to the hospital.He hopes the treatment will end soon and make a full recovery.Mr. Mahathir’s office also said in a statement that Mr. Mahathir would still have to return to the National Heart Center each day for physical therapy and other treatment after being allowed to return home.”Mahathir will continue to undergo rehabilitation and has been advised not to receive visitors for the time being.”Mahathir, 96, has been admitted to hospital three times in just over a month.He was admitted to the National Heart Centre for a thorough medical examination on 16 December last year and was kept in hospital for observation.
